Bats, the only mammals that can fly.
Wings different from birds in the sky.
No feathers, but two layers of skin
Stretched over arms, fingers, long and thin.

Go all night, sleep the whole day through.
Doing the bat bugaloo!

All around the world, from sea to sea.
1,000 species of bats, cute as can be.
Different bats eat different kinds of dishes.
Fruit, insects, frogs, small animals and fishes.

Bats sleep all day, they earn the right.
Nocturnal; active through the night.
Some use echolocation, a sound.
While flying, to find their food around.

When it's cold, some migrate where it's warm,
Hibernate or sleep in caves, safe from harm.
When bats sleep, they hang upside down.
Their bodies are furry and dark brown.
